Stop for Squirrels!

We just finished a 4 year old little boy's room. His big brother and sister had their rooms done a couple weeks ago, so little Andrew was feeling left out. We did a few additions and some re-arranging in his room.

This sweet little boy is obsessed with anything squirrel. Yes, so random, but I think it's cute. Per his mother's request, we were to add anything related to squirrels in the room. Let me just warn you - if you happen to ever need something squirrel related - they're HARD to find. We did find some cute squirrel books, but the most creative thing we did was a "Stop for Squirrels" sign. I stayed up late one night making these little squirrels to attach to the sign. My daughter and I gathered twigs and acorns to also incorporate some "squirrel life" into this sign. It turned out pretty cute I think, and most importantly....Andrew LOVED it!

AUGUST Hours

Can this Texas heat be any more excruciating?! It's pretty miserable.

Due to vacations and kids going back to school, we're changing our hours for the month of August. Starting today, Tuesday, Aug 2 our new hours will be:

Tuesday - Thursday: 10 am - 2 pm
Friday - Saturday: 10 am - 4 pm

James Sikes

My heart is sad today. Through a friend, I've learned of a sweet family that is going through a tragedy. I spent a couple hours last night reading their blog from start to finish. By the end, I was weeping. This sweet couple (Kara and Matthew Sikes) has an 8 month old little boy that has a brain tumor. After numerous surgeries and a really aggressive tumor, they are now at home with their precious boy James and a hospice nurse. Take a look at their blog and please pray for them....

GIRLS ROOM! You're probably beginning to think that all we work on is teenage girls rooms! We really do anything, but it seems like lately clients have hired us to work on their kids' rooms. I promise it's not all we do!

Here you'll see Caroline's room. We've worked for these clients for about 5 years now. They moved in to a brand new home in University Park, and we had the opportunity to completely start over with new furniture and accessories in various rooms in the house. We didn't do anything in the kid's rooms in the beginning, so I guess they were ready for a change. And it was a big one!

Caroline loves blues and greens, so we went with that. The amazing bed was custom made by our contractor. It came together pretty easily, and she was very pleased with the end result. What a fun job it was!

One of our Lake Highlands clients house will be featured in this year's holiday home tour. We are starting early to help her prepare by doing small projects throughout her home. Here you will see a room makeover we did - this is her "girly room". She has two sons, so her house doesn't have much pink or "girl" to it, but she has made space in her guest room to go pink crazy! We love this client and are so happy to be helping her...especially with a girly pink room!
